Hello parents and students of Div 02,
My apologies for the late post, but I wasn't feeling too well today. Thank you for being patient. Just an important reminder that all students need to bring back their field trip permession forms on Monday for our NIC/Swimming field trip, which will be happening on Monday March 23. Grade 7's also need to bring their Trade for a Day permission forms on Monday for Thursday's March 19th's field trip.
This week at Queneesh we covered the following topics:
LA- we continued to explore figuartive language and learned about similies, metaphors, idioms and cliches. We practiced our Daily 5 and had a spelling test on Friday.
Gym- we continued to work on our Dance unit and groups were given the opportunity to display their talents. Thank you to those who showed off their moves.
Math- we continued with our algebra unit. This week we looked at input/output tables and how to identify algebraic expressions to solve for large inputs. Next week will learn how to use the data in our input/output table to construct a graph.
Science- the students completed an oral quiz. Everyone did a great job of explaining to me what they learned about Electricity and Ecosystems. I hope you enjoyed the different assessment approach. I will continue to test those I missed last today.
Social Studies- the grade 6's continued to work on their world study webquest and the 7's were finalizing their presentations. The grade 7's will start their presentations on Tuesday.
French- the students have been working on their Ma Famille presentations. We will be presenting them starting on Wednesday. Please take the time to complete your project at home. You will be given some time on Monday to practice your french portion.
Leadership- as a class we completed our first leadership project, "The Queneesh Birthday Board." The students were also given the opportunity to brain storm some leadership ideas that we could tackle around Queneesh.
Thanks for an awesome week. Please work on your French this weekend and put your permission forms in your bag.
