Hello Parents and Students of Division 10,
What is up with this nasty weather? I hope that the weather clears up for your family weekend and that you get to spend some quality time with your family. In room 231 we had another busy week.
Congrats to the grade 6/7 boys and girls on their Basketball games on Monday. This Monday there will not be any games due to Family Day.
This week we covered the following learning concepts:
Math: how to convert improper fractions to mixed numbers, how to find equivalent fractions.
LA: we started a convention homework project, completed our socio-grams and started character playing cards. We also learned to use a comma when writing the date, between a city and a province, and when listing a series of items or adjectives to describe a noun. Please complete lesson #2 and #3 with your parents this weekend and return it on Tuesday!
Social Studies: we are working on creating a time capsule for an Early Man artifact, we discussed how Ice Ages impacted early migration and we finished the week by exploring "The Stone Age." Tell your parents what Paleolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic mean!
Gym: we played capture the flag dodge ball, yoshi and practiced our basketball skills.
French: letter Bingo.
Science: next week we will be learning about our Solar System and Stars.
HCE: hygiene, healthy eating and physical activity have been our focus.
Thanks for an awesome week!

:)
